2. We Review Your Information and May Make You An Offer.

Our trained appraisers will evaluate your information and will make you an offer.  Please keep in mind, Autogator will respond to every submission received, but not everything submitted will get a monetary offer based on location and value of the vehicle.  We will always do our best to give you a very reasonable offer for your unwanted vehicle.

3. Seller Accepts Offer from AutoGator

After all information relating to the vehicle is finished and both parties agree to the terms, we will begin the purchasing process and either have a tow company contact the Seller to schedule a pick up time or the Seller can deliver the vehicle to our facility.

4. Vehicle is Picked Up / Delivered to AutoGator

If the vehicle is picked up by our tow company, the tow driver handles payment and paperwork at the time the vehicle is picked up.  If the vehicle is being delivered to Autogator, the paperwork and payment is handled at our facility in person.  When there are times that the Seller cannot be with the vehicle when its picked up, other arrangements can be made for paperwork and payment.

5. Payment is Made and We Do All the DMV Paperwork - You're Finished

After the paperwork and payment is taken care of, Autogator handles the DMV process of changing ownership for the vehicle.  Autogator is a licensed dealer in the state of CA and must process newly purchased vehicles within a limited time.  The vehicles Release of Liability is submitted by the Seller, either by mailing in the form attached to the title or completing the online form on the DMV website (recommended).

Selling a car can be confusing and intimidating.  Regardless of what kind of vehicle you're selling, Autogator Buyers will be courteous and helpful.  We will ask for information about the vehicle and give you an offer, but if we can't come to an agreement on a price we are always willing to help you find other options for selling your vehicle.

What paperwork do you need?

Since most people don't sell vehicles very often its hard to know what to do with the DMV paperwork and know what you're responsible for.  We deal with DMV paperwork every day so we can usualy explain what you need to sell your vehicle.  Sometimes you have everything you need, sometimes you need a letter from a bank to show a loan has been paid off and sometimes you'll need to go to the DMV to straighten up a paperwork issues. No smog certificate required!

In California, it is the responsibility of the Seller to provide a smog certificate when selling a vehicle, BUT NOT WHEN YOU SELL TO AUTOGATOR! The law only pertains to selling to an individual. Autogator is a licensed auto dealer and auto dismanlter in the state of California so we can purchase any vehicle without a smog certificate, we only need to prove ownership.
